THE FOREST THAT CHANGED ME
On the *** of my nerves I met you
Adorned in blue
I thought you dazzled
Not as the sun but as stars
Beautiful in your individuality and ethereal in your movement
You approached first
Allowing me to experience the gravitational pull that is you
And boy was I pulled in
Without a moment of hesitation, I conjured ways to connect with you
Your essence sweet as candy
Matched with a gaze that seemed to crush all barriers
Soft spoken
Smooth syllables hypnotizing my ears for focus
You were my focus
And for a while your voice was the only sound that reached my ears
Nerves ripping yet your tone mended me
Heart stilled at the revelation of your giggle
I was enamoured
Bewildered if you will
I was lost
In the forest of you
In but mere moments of interaction
I had sunk into the galaxy that is you
Hoping for the chance to explore
I had to see more
If your voice holds such power
How much more the contents of your words
If your giggle can calm the wildest of storms
How much more your laugh
If your gaze can melt the most absolute of ice
How much more your presence
I was lost
In a way that I had no reference of
It didn’t match the wild affections told by the world
It was a calm falling
One more dangerous than any beast encountered
I searched the trees of your presence for shade
Hugged your branches for comfort
The way the sun reflected off you inspired me
You were my muse
I was lost but I didn’t want to be found
And then it set in
Reality did
As much as I had encountered this precious forest
I had no capabilities to cultivate it
Set with a decision before me I ran
For fear of bringing the familiar scent of destruction to such a wonderful location
Why couldn’t you make it work?
Why didn’t you try?
Questions that haunted me for a while
Threatened with a decent into chaos
I saw it again
That lovely forest
Simple sights of the way its trees dance in the wind pulls me out of my darkness
So here I sit
As the sand of my island caress my body
And as the wind of wisdom surges all around me
Praying for the continued growth of the forest
Hoping that it continues to hold the capacity to save others, just as it had saved me
Desiring for it’s orbit to expand, so more are rescued
And wishing that whoever does have the capacity to cultivate such a magnificent place, provides it with love so strong that it recognizes the level of its crafted magnificence.
